Chapter One — 1.1 Background to the Study

Organizations that depend on school fee payment systems are under increasing pressure to modernize, and Voice User Interface (VUI) Design has emerged as one of the more promising avenues for doing so, given its demonstrated impact in related domains.

In practice, however, adoption of voice user interface (VUI) design within school fee payment systems has been uneven, and its actual impact on conversion rate is not yet well understood in a rigorous, evaluable way — a gap this study is positioned to address.

1.2 Statement of the Problem

Existing approaches to conversion rate within school fee payment systems remain largely reactive and fragmented, with little systematic use of voice user interface (VUI) design despite its demonstrated value elsewhere. This study addresses the resulting gap by designing and evaluating a solution built specifically around voice user interface (VUI) design.
