Design and Implementation of a Cloud Computing-Based Cloud Storage Management Systems
Abstract
This MSc study investigates the subject matter outlined in the title above through a structured research design appropriate to the MSc level. Using primary and/or secondary data collection methods, the research examines the underlying variables, tests relevant hypotheses, and presents findings with implications for practice and policy. This is placeholder abstract text generated for catalogue preview purposes; the full document contains a complete, topic-specific abstract, literature review, methodology, data analysis, and conclusion.
Chapter One — 1.1 Background to the Study
Cloud Computing has become one of the more actively explored innovations in the design of modern cloud storage management systems, promising gains in efficiency and reliability that legacy, largely manual approaches have struggled to deliver.
Despite this potential, many existing cloud storage management systems were not originally designed with cloud computing in mind, resulting in persistent gaps in threat detection accuracy that limit their overall effectiveness. This study examines how Cloud Computing can be applied to help close that gap.
1.2 Statement of the Problem
Current cloud storage management systems in many organizations struggle with inadequate threat detection accuracy, often relying on manual processes or outdated architectures that were not designed for today's operating environment. Without a structured approach to integrating cloud computing, these limitations are likely to persist, exposing organizations to inefficiency, risk, and a poor user experience. This study is motivated by the need to design and evaluate a cloud computing-based approach to addressing this problem.
1.3 Objectives of the Study
- To design and implement a cloud computing-based approach to improving threat detection accuracy in cloud storage management systems.
- To evaluate the effectiveness of Cloud Computing in enhancing threat detection accuracy within cloud storage management systems.
- To identify the key requirements and constraints relevant to deploying cloud computing in this context.
- To assess user and stakeholder perception of the resulting system.
1.4 Research Questions
- How can cloud computing be applied to improve threat detection accuracy in cloud storage management systems?
- How effective is Cloud Computing at enhancing threat detection accuracy within cloud storage management systems?
- What requirements and constraints are relevant to deploying cloud computing in this context?
- How do users and stakeholders perceive the resulting system?
1.5 Significance of the Study
Beyond its immediate technical contribution, this study offers value to organizations evaluating whether to invest in cloud computing for their own cloud storage management systems, and contributes to the broader literature on applied software technology / IT by documenting a concrete implementation and evaluation case.
1.6 Scope of the Study
As a MSc-level study, its scope is confined to designing and evaluating a cloud computing-based solution for cloud storage management systems, focused specifically on threat detection accuracy; broader deployment considerations fall outside this scope.
