The Application of Cloud Computing in Enhancing Data Privacy Compliance in Online Learning Management Systems
Abstract
This BSc study investigates the subject matter outlined in the title above through a structured research design appropriate to the BSc level. Using primary and/or secondary data collection methods, the research examines the underlying variables, tests relevant hypotheses, and presents findings with implications for practice and policy. This is placeholder abstract text generated for catalogue preview purposes; the full document contains a complete, topic-specific abstract, literature review, methodology, data analysis, and conclusion.
Chapter One — 1.1 Background to the Study
Cloud Computing has become one of the more actively explored innovations in the design of modern online learning management systems, promising gains in efficiency and reliability that legacy, largely manual approaches have struggled to deliver.
Despite this potential, many existing online learning management systems were not originally designed with cloud computing in mind, resulting in persistent gaps in data privacy compliance that limit their overall effectiveness. This study examines how Cloud Computing can be applied to help close that gap.
1.2 Statement of the Problem
Existing approaches to data privacy compliance within online learning management systems remain largely reactive and fragmented, with little systematic use of cloud computing despite its demonstrated value elsewhere. This study addresses the resulting gap by designing and evaluating a solution built specifically around cloud computing.
1.3 Objectives of the Study
- To design and implement a cloud computing-based approach to improving data privacy compliance in online learning management systems.
- To evaluate the effectiveness of Cloud Computing in enhancing data privacy compliance within online learning management systems.
- To identify the key requirements and constraints relevant to deploying cloud computing in this context.
- To assess user and stakeholder perception of the resulting system.
1.4 Research Questions
- How can cloud computing be applied to improve data privacy compliance in online learning management systems?
- How effective is Cloud Computing at enhancing data privacy compliance within online learning management systems?
- What requirements and constraints are relevant to deploying cloud computing in this context?
- How do users and stakeholders perceive the resulting system?
1.5 Significance of the Study
This study is significant to software developers and system architects seeking practical guidance on applying Cloud Computing within online learning management systems. It is equally relevant to organizations that rely on these systems, offering a reference point for evaluating whether such an investment is justified, and it adds to the growing body of work on cloud computing applications in software technology / IT.
1.6 Scope of the Study
As a BSc-level study, its scope is confined to designing and evaluating a cloud computing-based solution for online learning management systems, focused specifically on data privacy compliance; broader deployment considerations fall outside this scope.
